About this event

We are so excited to host another technical charity event to help some of our amazing local nonprofits with some of their small technical projects!

  • Who are we helping? Baltimore Job Search Network , Camp Attaway & Medicine with a Mission
  • How are we helping? We have 5 projects for these 3 nonprofits: will be helping each of these nonprofits with their websites, a database for Medicine with a Mission for tracking medical volunteers, and helping Job Search Network with some infrastructure tasks. See project summaries below.
  • When and where? We will come together virtually from 9am - 5pm on Saturday, Oct 16th via Zoom breakout rooms.

Project Summaries:

1. Camp Attaway - Revamped and modernized website for the Camp, with kids who have disabilities – https://campattaway.org/

2. Baltimore Job Hunters Support Network – They have 3 key programs/components: Job Seekers Network, Team Work, and Anti-Bullying campaign. Their current website is on GoDaddy, and want an updated and modern site.

3. Medicine With a Mission - Website upgrade. Responsive design, which displays well and effectively on mobile devices. Organizing content so it displays in a user-friendly fashion. Secure website - SSL certificate. Adding a fundraising button/link, add a pop-up or overlay for ability to sign up for an email newsletter. Google analytics.

4. Medicine with a Mission – Database project: Ability to have hospitals in Africa (to start) and Anne Arundel County (Maryland- community health clinic and not AAMC) post their needs of equipment, supplies and medical personnel needs (short term) and then have backend post those needs automatically, and allow website visitors to connect directly with the hospital to work on providing those items. Work through any security issues or potential problems that we are not thinking about, but tech experts would know to look out for.
